Hey guys,
Laura here at Blog of Sound. I know, it’s been forever since the last B.O.S. update so here I with a bit of news.
Blog of Sound has been incredibly successful this year thanks to all of you but as we come up to our 1-year anniversary I’m afraid that we might not make it. We are down to zero contributors and B.O.S. is completely dependent upon my spare time. Believe it or not, it takes quite a bit of time to come up with Indie Noise bands, commentaries and all those other wonderful gems you’ve come to know and love from Blog of Sound. And with all those features, I’m finding that there’s one thing I’m missing: TIME.
It should come as no surprise that I’m seriously considering shutting down the Blog of Sound. I’ve enjoyed every minute working on it but it’s becoming more of a burden than a blessing lately. I’m considering a few new options for B.O.S. because I absolutely hate the idea of shutting it down but right now, that seems to be my best solution. Blog of Sound is a monster that I can’t fight by myself.
I’m here looking for contributors. We don’t pay except in bylines and the ability to say that thousands of music lovers are reading your words. Blog of Sound was created as a way to help bring rock and roll back to the forefront but instead it’s putting my own aspirations in the back seat.
B.O.S. isn’t shutting down tomorrow or even next week but in the next few weeks I’m going to be trying out a few new avenues so that perhaps B.O.S. can live on.
If you have any interest in helping save Blog of Sound all I ask is that you drop me a message via our Myspace page. I’m looking for contributors of any kind.
Wanna review a CD you just bought? Tell me about it.
Wanna talk about your favorite band and why they’re so great? Tell me about it.
Wanna rant about the music industry? TELL ME ABOUT IT.
(sensing a trend here?)
Short and sweet, Blog of Sound is suffering from lack of content. I can’t do a well thought out entry, maintain my full time job, play in my band, and continue to live some semblance of life at this rate.
I need help.
So in the words of the Beatles: Help me if you can, I’m feeling down. And I do appreciate you being round. Help me get my feet back on the ground. Won’t you please, please help me?
Only you can help save the Blog of Sound
Cheers,
~laura (the last of the crew at Blog of Sound)
